You see a table with several open seats. Which location should you take? That’s a matter of personal preference. Is there a gorgeous guy or girl playing alone at 1 end of the craps table? Which gamblers are smoking? Which appear to be bored? Who seem drunk or awful? Choose a location where you will feel the most comfortable.
I prefer betting on the end, right next to the dealer. On the end, I do not need to worry about folks on either side of me. I do not like gambling next to the stickman as I always seem to be in the way of him reaching for the dice or moving the stick.
After wagering for a while, you’ll get a feeling for your favored seat. You don’t have a pick when it is crowded. If you end up in an awful spot (e.g., an obnoxious person is next to you), just switch to a different free spot. If the craps table is packed, hang out until a person leaves and take their spot. Be aware of a player "coloring up," which is an indication that she is departing, and tell the dealer that you want to take over her seat. The dealer will then hold that spot and not permit a new player to swiftly take the spot. The croupier will gently request the new gambler to shift to the spot that you vacate. Obviously, when you change locations, don’t leave your your chips.
Players near you can affect your feeling and full betting experience. They can cause it to be fun or horrifying. You might get trapped next to a chain-smoking heavyset guy with wicked body smell, or it may be a bevy of heavily drinking angels busting out of their halter tops. So, choose your spot wisely.
