Do Not Have an Alcoholic Beverage … Wager
January 9th, 2010 by Kenneth

If you prefer to take an alcoholic beverage every so often, leave your money at home if you plan to do your drinking in a poker room. I’m serious. clean out your handbag, your money belt, and leave all cash, credit cards and checks at home. Take whatever cash you are planning to spend on drinks, tips and whatever loose coins you plan on loosing and keep the rest behind.

Cynical? Not at all. Practical more like. You might well discover a win after a boozy evening out with your buddies and be lucky enough to hit a 25 minute roll at a smokin’ craps table. Hang on to that tale because it’s as brief as it gets if you continually drink and wager. The two simply don’t mix.

Keeping your cash at home is a little drastic, but preventative actions for drastic behavior is proportionate and necessary. If you compete to win, then do not consume alcohol and wager. If you can afford to throw away your money without a second thought, then consume all the free alcohol your belly can hold, but don’t take credit cards and chequebooks to toss into the combination of chasing losses once your drunken brain throws away all the cash!
